“Hoshimine Inari Shrine”
The main deity enshrined here is Dakini-ten (茶枳尼天 / だきにてん), a bodhisattva called Shinko-ō Bosatsu (辰狐王菩薩 / しんこおうぼさつ) who saves living beings in the Six Realms (hell, hungry ghosts, animals, asuras, humans, and heavenly beings).
Long ago, in the Enryaku era (late 700s), Dakini-ten appeared in the form of a divine fox in white snow and came to this place, Hoshi-no-mine. She purified people’s sins and defilements and bestowed good fortune and blessings.
Since then, from ancient times, this shrine was especially revered by court nobles, and it is said that prayers here have shown clear spiritual efficacy.
Please pray here for things such as prosperity in business, a flourishing household, and success/advancement in life.
