New hairdryer

Back in 2024, when my sister was in hospital, I was filled with guilt, because I had happened to be away on holiday at the time she got sick, which made it hard to support her. I was in this really nice hotel, which offered free sweets and chocolate, and inside our room, which honestly was not as nice a room as I'd expected, but we were offered the luxury of using a dyson supersonic hairdryer.

At home, I've been using the same hairdryer since I was a teenager. It's a great big weighty thing, a "salon professional", Mark Hill where half the paint is chipped off, and all the attachments went missing over the years. When I am drying my hair, I'll spend 40 minutes, and it's not even dry yet. My arms get tired. It's the biggest workout I do regularly. And I still end up leaving with wet hair.

But this flashy, lightweight hairdryer, in this expensive hotel, it dried my hair so quickly! I'd never experienced anything like it! Since then, I have regularly said "I'll get one of those hairdryers someday. I'll do it." Anyway, after getting back, other stuff took a higher importance. But it regularly came to mind.

This weekend, I got my bonus for the past year of work. It's been a tough year. But I managed to earn a bonus. And it was also a very tiring and busy weekend, on which I overslept on one day - leading to me almost missing one of the activities I wanted to do. Drying my hair in a hurry, I became quickly frustrated, that it was taking way too long to finish drying. I decided right there and then, that this was my opportunity - I'll fulfil my dream of owning one of these hairdryers.

So I ordered one this morning. I chose the red and gold model. I'm so genuinely excited. It's going to be so nice to just own this kind of luxury item which will make my life genuinely easier.
