My name is Carmen. I'm a 27 year old software engineer. I live in the UK, and I have 2 pet cats. My main hobby right now is engaging in my love for lolita fashion. I attend meets at my local lolita communities, regularly talk and interact with other people interested in lolita fashion online, and I spend a lot of time browsing magazines and social media related to lolita fashion.
I like to collect things. Right now my main collecting activities are around Kuromi, a Sanrio character that is cheeky but charming. In the past I have also collected Furbys (from the 90s and early 2000s), plush animals like Jellycat and Build a Bear, vinyl & fashion dolls, fabric dolls, and frog themed items. As well as this, I've also previously collected fortune telling paraphernalia. I have almost created other collections too, but these are my main ones.
I enjoy drawing and creating art. I do a lot of sketches. I'm not that good, but I'm learning. In the past I have created several pixel animations either for myself or as commissions. Many of these animations have now been lost to time, but I collected the ones I still had onto this website. I also like a little bit of photography, but I have never spent any time to learn this - I just like taking pictures. Recently I've been creating collaged glittery graphics using picmix, this has been a really fun artistic outlet.
I also enjoy watching television shows, and reading comics. I occasionally read an actual book, in particular I am a massive fan of the Apothecary Diaries light novel series. My favourite themes are romance, comedy, and media which has great worldbuilding. I am very slowly learning Japanese, with the goal of having access to a larger pool of manga, as well as being able to read Japanese magazines more easily.
I like a variety of music, I enjoy music that has a good beat, music that gives me chills. Some of my favourite musicians recently are My Chemical Romance, Poppy, Babymetal. I don't just like rock music - I also like electronic music, such as drum&bass and jungle. I remember fewer of the artists in this genre, but I do really like The Prodigy and Daft Punk, as well as historically being a fan of Skrillex. The pop musician I'm the biggest fan of is Lady Gaga.
